It is the mission of the Community Action Transit System (CATS) to provide safe, reliable, affordable and convenient transportation to all residents of Pike County regardless of age, race, income or disability.

"The GoBus Intercity Bus Service is a collaborated effort between the Ohio Department of Transportation, The City of Athens and Hocking Athens Perry Community Action.  The project is part of a nationwide effort to connect rural areas and urban centers resulting in connections of greater regional, statewide and national significance."

  • GoBus offers quick connections between the City of Athens and Columbus/Cincinnati
  • The Athens/Columbus route stops in Athens, Nelsonville, Logan, Lancaster and Columbus (at the Greyhound Station and Port Columbus Airport)
  • The Athens/Cincinnati route stops in Jackson, Piketon, Peebles, Winchester/Seaman, Mt. Orab and Batavia.
  • Buses make two roundtrips daily: 7 days a week, 365 a year

  • Passes can be purchased on the bus, by mail or at participating Kroger or Giant Eagle stores
  • 50% reduced fares for seniors and riders with disabilities
  • Riders with disabilities: service animals and one assistant ride free and door-to-door service is available

"Metro is Southwest Ohio's fixed route bus service.  Providing more than 22 million rides per year, Metro brings approximately 20% of downtown Cincinnati's workforce in the city.  Metro service operates 365 days a year and serves Hamilton County residents along with some commuter trips from Clermont, Warren, Butler counties into Cincinnati."
  • Metro Trip Planner helps riders plan which routes to take and provides updated schedule changes
  • Operates from approximately 4:00am to 1:30am every day
  •  Monthly passes are available for purchase online
  • Children under age 2 ride free (limit 2 per paying adult) and qualifying seniors/riders with disabilities receive half-price fare.
